Modern Slavery Statement
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Smartnumbers has taken to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within its business or supply chain.
Our Supply Chain
Smartnumbers does not manufacture any of the products or services that we supply. We purchase our hardware from globally recognised brands that are supplied through distribution or reseller channels within the UK.
We hold the responsibility of ensuring all of our suppliers are operating in an ethical and transparent manner. To control this, all of our suppliers are vetted so that we ensure they are respecting human rights and environmental issues. Our suppliers are responsible for upholding these standards.
Our Policy
Smartnumbers recognises that modern slavery is a crime that can take many forms such as slavery, servitude, forced labour and human trafficking. Smartnumbers has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, both within its own business and its dealings with other organisations.
Vendor Management
Smartnumbers conducts due diligence on all new suppliers, issuing a questionnaire that must be completed and reviewed internally before the supplier can be added to our approved supplier list. Smartnumbers requires that vendors confirm:
- They have taken steps to eradicate modern slavery within their own business and supply chain
- They pay their employees the prevailing minimum wage
- They comply with the Act and share their Modern Slavery statement, where applicable.
